Emma O’Hara is a Wexford-born artist based in Cork City. Emma graduated from Limerick School of Art and Design with a BA in Printmaking and Contemporary Practice. In 2016, she was awarded the Cork Printmakers bursary. Since then, she has exhibited throughout Ireland.
O’Hara’s screen prints capture a perception of deconstructed landscapes and urban cityscapes. O’Hara celebrates common objects and environments from everyday life. The artist believes there is no higher hierarchy of culture and her inspiration is borrowed from any source of the mundane influenced by the pop culture movement. Emma uses colour to highlight the disparity between structural form and the reimagined human intervention.
