Dublin-based printmaker Eimearjean McCormack presents a new series of fifty-eight limited edition risograph prints on Munken Paper, recently exhibited at The Royal Hibernian Academy, exploring the intersection of lived experience, memory and imagination through layered impressions of the natural world.
The space Eimearjean McCormack works in is, by her own description, fictional: existing at the intersection of lived experience, memory and imagination, where the boundaries between what is real and what is remembered are gently blurred. Her ongoing body of risograph prints inhabits that territory with precision and restraint, capturing impressions that might otherwise disappear.

The Ink Drawings Series moves between closely observed moments of reflection and broader glimpses of transient natural beauty. Presented as a full series of fifty-eight prints, each in an edition of fifty on Munken Paper, the work forms a layered narrative that builds across images rather than within any single one. The accumulation invites contemplation on the fragility of the natural world and the subtle complexities that shape the landscapes we inhabit, both physical and emotional. Risograph’s particular qualities, its grain, the slight unpredictability of its ink densities, its capacity for a warmth that sits somewhere between print and drawing, suit the subject precisely.

The series was exhibited at the Royal Hibernian Academy’s Ashford Gallery in Dublin from January to February 2026. The RHA, founded in 1823, is Ireland’s oldest artist-led institution, and the solo show, which centred on risograph, artist books and silkscreen prints, placed McCormack’s ongoing print-based practice in that context of sustained institutional engagement with the medium.

Eimearjean McCormack graduated with an MA in Fine Art Print from the University of the Arts London in 2007 and completed a second Masters in Graphic Design specialising in publication design in 2016. Her work is held in collections including the National Gallery of Ireland, the Zuckerman Museum of Art in Georgia and the Department of Foreign Affairs. Recent exhibition credits include Expo 2025’s Irish Pavilion in Osaka, the Embassy of Ireland in Tokyo, The International Print Center New York and the Crawford Art Gallery in Cork.
