Phoebe Kiely is a Manchester-based artist. Since graduating from Manchester School of Art, she has been constantly shooting numerous rolls of film. Taking inspiration from the world around her, the work she makes is edited to a highly condensed version, which allows Phoebe to respond and understand her surroundings. Shot in a diaristic form, the edits are constantly changing and never finalised. She could be labelled as a street photographer, however, what Phoebe photographs is usually the last thing most people would point their camera at. She relies on an instinctive approach to taking photographs. Sometimes looking for human presence in the scenes she shoots, she also looks at the forgotten, seemingly post-apocalyptic environments.
