Faig Ahmed portrays the philosophical relationship between craft and technology through glitched-out rugs from traditional Azerbaijani textiles and embroideries. Although this article is not about print, still I think it is very fascinating to see how technology has had a significant impact on craft nowadays. What interests Faig Ahmed is pattern. And for this textile project, Baku-based artist Faig Ahmed, has been distorting the patterns of traditional designs, disassembling the structure and build new compositions that resemble digital glitches.

Faig Ahmed’s ongoing research includes an understanding of how a technology-based methodology of designing is highly relevant to an emerging post-digital culture. Also the reason he primarily works with tapestry is owing to the fact that fabric has been utilised by human for nearly the entire length of human history.
