Brian Giles, aka Sonofafox, has just released a new collection of vibrant and mesmerising silkscreens which were created during his residency at Print Club London this summer.

He tells us; “My time during my residency was a fantastic experience. The members were so helpful and friendly; working in such a vibrant and supportive community inspired me to create the best work possible. It’s infectious and something that I definitely would love to return to someday, a special place.”

In this body of work, titled Sea Swim, Brian explores the textures and rituals found in our seascapes, our relationship with the sea, and how they can affect our emotional well-being. “This is a subject I wanted to explore as swimming helped me immensely during the COVID lockdown,” says the printmaker.

Each photograph has been translated into the screenprinting method via CMYK separation. Brian hand-printed every layer and experimented with fluoro inks and colour fades to create dreamlike finishes.
