Screen print studio, CHOCHO, recently collaborated with French artist Olivier Tenedor, to print his 20-page book, BESTIAS. Based in Buenos Aires, Olivier is passionate about the myths and legends of different people from all over the world, and is a great admirer of les Arts Premiers.

For this project, Olivier put aside the human figure, and instead headed towards a series of beasts, in the search for a simple and universal image which he could base the series upon. These beastly beings, which Olivier imagined and portrayed in deep black, appeared in acrylic at first, until a proposal from renowned screen print studio CHOCHO. The publisher’s printmaking eye led them to an impeccable medium-format book, stamped, and hand-stitched. In the midst of the pandemic, each one kept in their shelter, they produced a limited edition of 200 copies.

A winged anteater, a three-tailed dog, and a rabbit spider all feature in the publication which tells the story of creatures both fantastical and real.
